Anyone need a tissue?

Hello ... as I promised, here I am with a tissue box creation for you to check out!

This is the second time that I have created a tissue box cover ... the last time was over 6 months ago when I was creating an altered item for ScrapMuch? to display ... so I thought it was about time that I created something new and fresh to keep at the cash :)

I have lots of photos below for you to check out the various angles ...

Use It Tuesday posted a challenge to dig into my my stash and create something based on the "April Showers Bring May Flowers" theme ... and I've got flowers and rainbows all over this!  You can see that I have used all Jillibean papers and embellies and twine from various other sources.  I dug into my button stash (which was accumulating and accumulating) and used a ton of buttons on this project!!!

I used various dies to create different shapes and used lots of buttons to add dimension.

This is my lovely flower scene ... I ran some white cardstock through the cuttlebug to emboss it and then freehanded some cute clouds!

This is my butterfly page ... I usually just ink the edges of my creations in brown ... but you'll notice that I used colour specific ink for each addition!

I used a die cut to pop out this delicate tree and loaded it with lots of colourful Stampin' Up buttons.  I made sure to use a strong liquid glue (hopefully nothing will ever ever fall off!)

This is my sunny rainbow scene ... I love the button rainbow (something I've used on a card before :)

I used an oval die cut to create the nice clean opening ... and also cut out the yellow flourish from one of the Jillibean patterned tag papers.  I wanted to keep the top simple but effective.

As you can see, the cover is removable so that when you are out of tissues you can pop in a new box!

And for those of you that are curious about the inside ... I made it out of a cereal box!

Thanks for stopping in today!

  2. Awesome creation! I love the symbolism of the kleenex box in the challenge since April and May are both cold/flu and allergy season. Very cool!!
