Card Challenge Time Again!

Hello!  I'm back today with some card that I created for various challenges ...

My first card was inspired by the Little Red Wagon challenge to use 3 or more flowers ... as you can see, I used more than 3 :)

Hand Stamped Sentiments also posted a challenge to create something inspired by spring ... and this definitely fit!

I'm thinking that this would make a nice Mothers Day card -- I like the bright colours and the various dies that I used for the background.

I cut out each individual mason jar and tied some twine around the lid ... an easy way to add some texture and dimension.  The yellow flowers are all punched out with one of my many flower punches and I used some yellow button brads for the centres.

The next card that I am sharing was created for a challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.  They challenged me to use a tree in a card ...

You can see that I chose to create an apple tree ... this was inspired by the fun sentiment from the Jillibean Apple Cheddar Soup sticker page ...

And finally for today, I am sharing a card that I created based on the following Freshly Made sketch:

I had fun with this Jillibean paper and chose to go with a fruit theme so that I could also enter this card in the Paper Dolls challenge to use a sketch with a fruity twist ...

Authentique Card Challenge & an Owl card!

Hello!

I'm sharing a couple of cards today --- including a card that I created based on the following Authentique card sketch challenge:

This is created based on the  Authentique Celebrate collection.  I hand stitched down to each of the people in the middle and used a lot of pop dots to create various dimension.  Also, I like how bold the black ribbon is against the paper.

The following card was created with an American Crafts collections and a lovely Stampin' Up ribbon piece and button...

I love the bright colours on this one ... and the owls are just soooo cute!

Cards, Cards and More Cards!

Hello -- today I'm sharing a card made with the Follow Your Heart collection for the MME sketch challenge.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card creation!  I hexagons, letters and flowers for my various chipboard/die-cut pieces ... I like that there is a lot to this card without it seeming too over the top :)  I also like the earthy twine that came with the MME collection!

I also created the following fun and colorful cards recently:

I like how this card appears simple without being all that simple ... the heart strip is from one of the end pieces of a 12x12 being put to use!  (I never throw that part away!)

This card also features the really nice green colour in this collection ... green is my favourite colour & I love the green, brown and pink on this card!

Thanks for checking in!

Feeling puzzled ...

Hello - I'm here with some cards today!

Scrap It Girl posted a challenge to use your Creative Memories products

I happen to have a puzzle piece punch that I bought from Creative Memories, so I thought I'd use it to create some fun polka dot cards!

This is my favourite ... I love the bright colours!  You'll notice that I popped up some of the puzzle pieces on this card to create dimension.

Another colourful card ... I switched up the direction of the third piece to keep things interesting :)

For this card, I trimmed along the pattern at the bottom of the paper in order to create this scalloped edge.  I like the mostly monotone theme ... green is my favourite colour!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Check in tomorrow for some more creations!

Good Ol' Boys and a Colour Challenge ...

Hello there!  I'm back with a few more challenge entries!
First I'm sharing a layout that I created when inspired by the Good Ol' Boys challenge at Scrap Fit!

We were challenged to create something inspired by the following pic:

Something about the pic inspired me to create a layout of my Dad and Grandfather hanging out together :)  I don't usually create too many "masculine" layouts ... and this pic inspired me to create one!

I was also inspired by a colour challenge posted at ScrapFit ...
they posted the following colours:

I chose to use up my scraps and experimented with my Cuttlebug embossing folders here to add texture to the various strips of paper. I like how the bicycle appears to be 'on the move'.

I like the blue shades in this card.  Guess What? This die-cut car is actually from a Canadian manufacturer!

I created this card for a friend of mine at work ... I like the simplicity of the card.

Thanks for stopping in today!
See you tomorrow!

MME Layout Challenge & Lets Get Sketchy Layout Challenge

Welcome friends!  I'm here today with 2 layouts that I created (one for the MME sketch challenge and another for the Lets Get Sketchy Challenge) ...

First of all ... here is the Lets Get Sketchy sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch ... once again I've flipped the sketch upside down so that it works with my photo:

This uses the October Afternoon Farmhouse collection ... I love all of the cute embellishments and chipboard pieces that come with the collection.

I used the Epiphany tool (sold at ScrapMuch?) to create this very cool epoxy banner with mini-alphas.

This rosette was created with a combination of Maya Road rosette ribbon and Stampin' Up ribbon ... isn't it pretty?

And next ... I've brought you a layout that I created based on the following My Mind's Eye sketch challenge!

I've used the Follow Your Heart collection ... its a beautiful collection and I enjoy the soft colours!

I used mini alphas for my journalling ... and snuck a pretty pin into the corner of my flower/button/jewel cluster.

To balance out the jewel flourish in the bottom corner, I made sure to add some to the top corner.  Anyone that has seen me scrap knows that I often cut my jewel flourishes up into pieces so that they sit on the page the way I want :)  I also used two different Thickers for my title ... something that I have been doing on most of my layouts lately!

Today and Everyday Layout

Hello there!  Today I'm sharing a layout that I created based on the following Frosted Designs Sketch Challenge:

This is my take on the sketch ... you can see that I held off on the journalling ... I plan to come back to this at some point ... maybe I'll get to it once I've learned to improve my handwriting :)

Isn't this little bird cute?  My friend Laura Whitaker who also designs for ScrapMuch? gave it to me!  I also am a big fan of the soft felt grey butterfly in the centre of my cluster!  As always, I like to have multiple textures in my layouts.

The title of "today and everyday" was a team effort (I created this layout while scrapping at a ScrapMuch? crop) -- I used the blue twine (attached to the paper with tiny white brads) to add a whimsical feel to the paper & create a "trail" for the butterflies.

Hexagons again!

Hello -- today I'm sharing another creation made with the Follow Your Heart collection from MME.  This is the layout that I created for the Frosted Designs challenge to use hexagons ---   I used the hexagons to frame my photo and you can also see that my background sheet has hexagons up in the top right corner.

I used a number of chipboard and dimensional sticker embellishments that came with the collection. I clustered them together along with a flower and doily that I cut out on the Cricut.

I love the frilly embellishments and thought they went perfectly with this sweet photo of my niece.  You may have noticed that my signature "3 jewels in a row" made it into a few spots on this layout :)

Thanks for stopping in today -- be sure to check out more of my creations tomorrow!

Authentique Layout Challenge!

Hello!

Today I'm sharing a layout that I created with the Authentique April challenge in mind ... this is the sketch that was posted:

The style of the layout is different than my usual style ... but I like how it turned out (for something different than my usual :)
I had a lot of fun using the Authentique Celebrate paper collection on this one ... the colours are so vibrant!

I used the Sew Ribbon tool to stitch the ribbon through the paper ... and aside from the title, I did not embellish too much (in order not to take away from the ribbon stitching).

Thanks for dropping in today!

October Afternoon Play Time & Some Challenges!

Hi there!

I'm sharing some creations that I made with some challenges in mind today :)

First off all, Creative Scrappers posted the following sketch:

And October Afternoon posted a challenge to use your letter alpha stickers ... so I created the following layout with their Rocket Age collection.

The layout shows a picture of my side of the room and my roommate's side of the room in our University residence (10+ yrs ago) ... I used alphas to document this and create a longer more interesting title.

The city skyline is from a die that I bought recently and really enjoyed using!  I like "switching up" the font styles in my titles to create an interesting story ... and I like how this title turned out.

I definitely had a more cluttered side to the room than my roommate! LOL.

Next I'm sharing a card that I created for the Frosted Designs sketch challenge.  I am also entering this in the Paper Playtime challenge to create a birthday card with a sentiment on the card.

This is the sketch ...

And this is my card!  I used my scraps from the layout above and created my sentiment using Jillibean alphas and October Afternoon collection stickers.

And I created this card for fun :)

Thanks for checking me out today!

More Challenges!!!

Welcome!

Today I'm sharing a few creations that I made for some challenges...

First of all, Lets Get Sketchy posted the following sketch challenge:

I chose to flip the sketch upside down (due to the direction of my photos that I selected).  This layout used Jillibean's Apple Cheddar Soup collection ... how perfect that I am actually documenting making some soup with my friends :)

I used buttons, brads, pins, cutouts, flowers and mini-alphas to create this fun cluster of embellishments.

I titled the layout "Friendship Soup" and used mini alphas to make my title interesting and to make "soup" the focus of the title.

Next, I'm here with a card that I created for the following Card Patterns sketch challenge.

I created the following card ... using Kaiser Kraft paper and chipboard embellishment.  The wooden thank you is a Jillibean product.  I like the simplicity of this card ... sweet and effective :)

I also created this card from the same collection as above ... I used a paper punch to create the layered "water waves" effect ... and a button for the sun :)  I am linking this card up to the Joyful Stampers Inspire me Friday Challenge!
