Bits and pieces ...

Hello friends!

 

Today I'm sharing a card that I created with some bits and pieces left over from a paper collection.  The tag is really designed for a layout ... but it makes for a nice sentiment on a Mothers Day card!

 

 

The turqoise scallops are actually part of the border that was cut off of a circular piece of paper in the collection.  I've stitched along the scallops to add that extra impact!

Are you a fan of purple?  I sure am ... the lovel lavendar colour is one of the reasons that I truly love this card!

 

 

I even brought out my sewing machine to finish this one off ... just a subtle straight line strip across the top of the banner!

Today I'm sharing a layout that will eventually go into a secret gift album for my sister and fiancé (shhh ... don't tell ... lol)

I love these chipboard embellishments ... they have some metallic accents that really work well with the gold title!

I had fun using these flags and popped up the smile sticker for some added dimension.

I love the numbered piece of paper and when I know who will be getting this card, I'll likely add their actual age in some nice thickers to complete this card!

I created the pennant with some fussy cut circles and some scrap paper bits for the strips!  (super easy to do!)

A Few Sweet Birdies!

Today I'm sharing a pretty card that I created using my metal bird cage die!

I have been doing lots of sewing on my cards lately ... I love the added detail and it is really easy to do (especially when I leave my sewing machine sitting out :)

I used pop dots to pop up both the bird cage and the wooden birds ... the added dimension creates more of a "scene" on the card!

A lovely crochet flower ...

Today I'm sharing a card created with a lovely crochet flower for a focal point.  I added a simple straight-pin to the flower for a little bit extra and have used some pennants to draw your eye back onto the card.

This is another card where I've used a simple straight stitch to outline the card!

This card is a pretty simple card to create .... but I love how the yellow accents make the yellow flowers pop in the patterned background paper!

I had some fun here with washi tape ... I love the subtle accent and how the pattern peeps through the tape!

Today I'm sharing a card created with some nice grey and orangey peach colours. 

I used a bit of stitching to add an extra impact ... and even used a white thread so that it would add contrast against the grey background paper.

I love the monochrome grey letters of the sentiment against the background paper!

Today I am sharing a card that I am linking this card up to Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger challenge where I was inspired by the following pic:

I was inspired by the lovely colours and I'll admit that it made me think about people that sit in bed and read the paper :)  

I used pop dots to pop up the bees and flowers as a way to create some dimension.  I also added some simple twine to add an additional texture!
