My beautiful younger sister and her "beautiful" dog ...

The last time I posted a layout with my younger sister's dog Cody, I mentioned that I'd be posting more ... the photos that she gave me are so beautiful and definitely inspire me to scrap!

This layout showcases Little Yellow Bicycle's Twig collection.  I bought this at ScrapMuch? when it was first released and watched as it sold out almost immediately!  I am so thankful that I got my supply while it lasted :)

I chopped down three of my photos to smaller sizes and chose to layer them in a "step" pattern around my main photo.  You'll notice that all three photos have Cody facing in towards my main photo ... I did this to ensure that your eye is drawn to the main photo ...

I thought butterflies added a sweet touch to the layout.  I've been on a "pin" kick lately and used some straight pins to add that extra accent to my embellie clusters.

And another creation to share ...

The following photo frame/shadow box was something that I made for my sister late last year ... it was posted on the ScrapMuch? blog earlier, but I thought I'd post it here too, for those of you that haven't had a chance to see it ...

I used a simple 5x7 photo and a few embellishments.  The letters are chipboard from Maya Road and are embossed to a pewter colour.  The paper and embellishments are Little Yellow Bicycle Twig!  This was really quick to pull together as there wasn't too much room inside the frame ... I've got a few empty frames waiting for new "gifting" opportunities :)

A fun weekend with Little Yellow Bicycle...

This weekend I had the opportunity to scrap at the ScrapMuch? crop!  I enjoyed playing with the new Paradise collection from Little Yellow Bicycle ... there are so many cute embellishments and I love the colour themes and the paper designs!

 This layout features two of the same photo ... you'll notice that I matted the smaller photo in a different colour ... this draws out the different background colours in the photo ... making it seem a bit different from the larger photo!

I used this cluster and the thin strip of punched pink paper to bring out the pink in the photos and patterned paper.

And of course ... i had to make a card while I was at it ...

 I used glossy accents to give the three little birds that little bit extra :)

Authentique Cards

I'm back again ... this time with some cards showcasing Authentique's Loyal collection!

To start, I decided to play along with Authentique's March Card Challenge ... I have to reiterate how much I have enjoyed playing with Authentique since ScrapMuch? started carrying it in their store!

I decided to do a masculine card and had to refrain from using flowers and jeweld!  The best part of the Authentique loyal collection is that they have a number of quaint stickers that lend themselves to cute cards (like the old car sticker below).

This is my take on the sketch:

A little bit of layers, some blue felt ribbon, some brass brads, and PRESTO!

 

Now for a few more cards of my own ... made for ScrapMuch? to display!  You'll notice that I added a little bit of ribbon to each card ... I couldn't help myself!

ScrapMuch? March Colour Challenge

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I'll be celebrating today by scrapping away at the ScrapMuch? crop!

In the meantime, I would like to share the cards that I made for the ScrapMuch? March colour challenge.

The cards I made use Jillibean Apple Cheddar Soup paper ... the perfect "earthy" paper for the challenge.  The critters are made by American Crafts.  All of these cards are "half size" ... (2.75" x 4") -- one of my favourite sizes for a card, when I want the focus on a particular embellishment ... like the snail below.

 

And not only did I have a snail critter ... but a dragonfly too!  Once again, the small card puts the focus on the dragonfly...

 Using buttons on this card as apples is an idea that I got from Laura Whitaker at ScrapMuch?

You can see that I pop-dotted a few trees on this card ... it adds dimension and character to the flat strip of paper ... drawing focus onto the trees.  I was able to sneak my 3 jewel trademark onto this card too!

MME Card Challenge #33

Hello there!!!

Today I'm going to share the card I created for the My Mind's Eye Card Challenge #33 (sketch below).

I used the MME Lost and Found Two Sunshine collection ... I love the colours in this collection and have already used it for a lot of layouts -- thus I had plenty of scraps to play with to create this card! 

I love the pretty buttons that came with the collection!  They add that extra pizazz!

Well, I was on a roll ... so once I was finished with the card for the challenge, I kept going!  Here are two more cards that I created with the same line of MME paper.

I used some pearl brads to set off the flower.

When I am not "feeling" the 4x6 transparency on my layout, I just use it on a card!  I created pennant flags with my scraps and layered some of them under and some over the transparency.

I added the rub-on "thank you" to this chipboard cutout, making it even more suited for this card!

Fun with Authentique!

I'm back with some creations showcasing Authentique's Loyal collection!

First of all, I had fun playing along with Authentique's March Sketch Challenge ... I liked the sketch and I have had a really great time working with Authentique since ScrapMuch? started carrying it in their store!

My sister Elaine gave me some of her leftover wedding photos to scrap with ... and I thought that the the blues and greens would make a nice wedding layout that wasn't your typical black and white!  This is my take on the sketch above:

This Kaisercraft wooden clock inspired my title of "moments to remember" and the cluster of hearts, tags and the flower helped ground it (so that it wasn't a random clock embellishment).

Another cool thing about Authentique collections is that they have a lot of mini word stickers that are versatile enough that you can use them on almost any layout.  I was easily able to find a number of words that suited this wedding layout.

Continuing with the "Loyal" Collection from Authentique, I also have two layouts to share that I designed earlier for ScrapMuch? to display.

This layout features my sister Emily's adorable dog Cody ... she gave me a lot of really good photos of him, which I have loved scrapping with! I loved using the various Loyal sticker embellishments to add that extra character and to tell a story on the layout ...

 This is a layout featuring my friend Kathryn and myself ... outside for a walk as we celebrate our 30th birthday together.  I love the greens and blues together with the sepia photos!
