Lets Get Sketchy Reveal - Pirates!!!

Hello all --- this is post #2 today ... please scroll down for my Made Especially for You posting!

It's Monday ... and you know what that means ... It's Lets Get Sketchy Reveal time!!!!

This week you are being challenged to create a layout based on the following lovely sketch:

And this is my take on the sketch!

I had fun with this title ... using different fonts and mini alphas!

This layout was also a perfect excuse to use some of my wooden accents (including these sailboats!)

Don't forget to head on over to Lets Get Sketchy to see what amazing layouts the other Lets Get Sketchy team members have created!

MEFY - Back To School

Hello my friends!  I hope that Monday is treating you well!
Welcome to this week's Made Especially For You designer reveal!

The challenge this week is sponsored by The Stamping Boutique ... and we have been challenged to create a Back to School Card using velum.

And this is my card ...
As you can see, I've used a sky themed velum background over top of the graph paper ... I like the subtle effect that velum adds!

I used some Stickles to "fancy up" the school cutout ... always an easy way to add some shine!

Don't forget to head over to the Made Especially For You blog to see the rest of the design team creations and to play along yourself!

Happy birthday cowboy!

Hello all!

Today I'm sharing a card that I created for a friend's birthday!

I am entering this card in the Paper Playtime Anything Goes Challenge and have based this card on the following Pink Elephant sketch:

And here is the card ...

I decided to personalize the card by adding his name to the card ... I like how the "happy" fit perfectly inside the lasso!

I also had fun with some yellow twine ... I tied it up like some rope to add some extra texture!

Thanks for stopping in today!

ScrapMuch? Sketch-Y Friday Reveal - All about hiking ...

It's Friday!

It's the best time of the week ... time for another ScrapMuch? Sketch-Y Friday reveal!!!!

Check out ScrapMuch? for the challenge details ... basically you have the rest of August to play along and if you enter 2 challenges this month --- you'll be entered in a random drawing for an awesome scrappy prize!!

This week's sketch is a really fun double pager by the lovely Laura Whitaker.

And this is my take on the sketch!

I used my Epiphany to create epoxy stars ... and had a lot of fun with my title by using multiple fonts!

I also used a few of my mist sprays on this ... I liked how it turned out, but I will admit that I had to scratch a few drops of paint off of people's faces in the photos ... lol

I was playing around with my sewing machine on this one ... as you can see, I've got lots of different stitches and have done some sort of stitching on each photo!

Thanks for checking in today!

Something borrowed, something blue ...

Hello everyone ...

Today I am sharing a card that I created for my younger sister to give to the happy couple at a wedding that she was attending last weekend.  The wedding invitation included a lovely photo of the soon to be married couple ... and so she gave me that photo to see if I could incorporate it into the card!

I am entering this card into the Paper Playtime Anything Goes Challenge!

And here is the card ...
Their photo was all in blue ... so I decided to make the card in a similar colour theme :)

I used my sewing machine to add lots of nice edges and trims ... a nice way to add that extra touch!  I used a layered ribbon and flower embellishment ... an elegant touch!

I left a spot for a heartfelt message on the left and used some rub-on sentiments on the right ...

And finally ... because this card was an unusual size (and large with some dimension), I created an envelope to fit it ... using eyelets and ribbon to close it & attaching a tag to write their names!

Thanks for stopping in today ... I hope you were inspired!

Guess What? Its time for ScrapFit!!!

Hello my friends ... I have some very exciting news to share with you ... I have joined the design team at ScrapFit and I'm here to share my first reveal with you!

ScrapFit is an awesome challenge blog ...I have been playing along with their challenges since I started blogging a few months ago and was really excited to join the team as a FitGirl!!!

The current challenge is to create a layout based on the 2 simple words "I Remember" ...

Many of you know that I have a brand new (10 week old) niece ... and there is no doubt that I will always want to remember what she was like when she was just newborn (she is getting huge already!!!) --- so I created the following simple (but meaningful) layout:

I really love this collection form My Mind's Eye ... lots of fun paper and matching embellies (including this cute brad, twine and jewels)!

For my main embellishment, I chose to use this chipboard butterfly ... and I used the coordinating twine to add that extra texture and dimension.  I scattered some brads and jewels for some extra pizazz!

Now ... the best thing about the ScrapFit challenges is that they are offering some incredible FitKit prizes from Paper Issues to the winners!  (Check out all the details here.)

Thanks for stopping in today!
