Spring Cards and Challenges!

Welcome!

I'm here today with a few "Spring" inspired cards.  I love this time of year!

First of all, I'm here with a card that was inspired by Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger.
This is the picture that inspired me:

And this is the card that I created...

I sewed some thick white twine into the card and then popdotted these birds that I cut with a Sizzix Embosslit.  Once again I've used a Pebbles rub-on sentiment ... and for the first time ever (strip at the bottom of the card) - I used a sewing machine on a project!!!!  (Believe it or not, I just bought the sewing machine about 1 hour before I made this card! :)

Now for three more Spring cards!

All three of these cards use stickers from a Bo Bunny Easter set ... I've layered the stickers with cardstock and add extra embellishments to add dimension.

I'm a big fan of butterflies ... any excuse to use one of my many punches!!!

I enjoyed using some of my Spellbinder dies to create this layered circular embellishment! I like the elegance of the card.

Card Sketch Creation!

Today I am sharing some cards ... including a card that I created for the Made Especially For You card challenge. This is the sketch that was posted:

This is my take on the sketch -- I love the retro feel of the paper!

As you can see, I used pop dots to pop up the hearts and the sentiment.  I also used ribbon and brads to add that extra texture.

I created the following two cards a while ago, but had not yet shared them.  I created them using the embellishments that were left over after creating some layouts.

I like how this card features this cute card and message :)

OK ... so I completely and accidentally attached all of my music notes backwards!!!  OOPS!!! Clearly I have not looked at sheet music in a while ... oh well, good thing there are no mistakes in scrapbooking :)

Birthday Card Box!

Hello!

Today I'm going to share a photo/card box that I decorated as a gift for my older sister
 ... shhhh, don't tell her ... I haven't given it to her yet :)

I am planning to give her a few boxes of hand-made cards to have at her disposal ... and thought that the following box would be perfect to decorate for holding birthday cards!

As you can see I kept the top of the box flat (along with the sides) ... this way she can stack the boxes on top of each other without having to worry!

I used banners on both the front and side to add the celebratory effect and used buttons and ribbon on the front to add that extra dimension.  Frosted Designs posted a challenge to use banners on a project ... so I thought this would be a great entry!

The box looks great full of cards ... and keeps things nice and organized!

Spring Layout and Easter Cards!

Hello there!
Today I'm posting a layout that I created while playing along with Lets Get Sketchy Challenge #6!  This is the sketch ... I love it!

When you look at my layout, you'll see that I turned it around on its side and chose to use one photo instead of two!  I love how you can do that with sketches and come up with something totally unique!

I used layers of butterflies and buttons for my 'main' embellishments ... and instead of journalling, I used this cute tag!

Now for some cards!!!
I am sharing some more Easter cards that I created for the CRAFT Challenge! and for CAS-ual Fridays!

Isn't this chocolate bunny delicious??!!

OK ... so yes this bunny came as part of an Easter sticker set ... but I think it makes for a very cute spring card ... and can definitely be used for an occasion other than Easter! I added dimension by popping up the green square that the bunny is attached to, as well as gluing on a ribbon bow-tie.

Please visit again tomorrow to check out some more of my creations!

April Showers!!!

Hello!
As we all know, April showers bring May flowers ... so in hopes that the flowers will come soon ...I'm sharing an umbrella inspired layout and card today!

Little Red Wagon posted a challenge to use an umbrella in a project and
CRAFT Challenge  also posted a Spring/Easter inspired challenge
... so I created this layout.  I love the spring colours!

As you can see from the shot below, I even cut out some umbrellas and pop-dotted them to add some additional dimension.  I clustered some die cut circles with some white flowers and pretty clear spring coloured buttons to create the spring flower cluster.
Paper Playtime also posted a challenge to use an umbrella and a die cut so I created this sweet card!  I'm also entering this card into the Joyful Stamper's Inspire Me Fridays!
The Kraft Journal also had an April Showers Bring May Flowers Challenge (where you need to use something kraft)
I misted the kraft die-cut umbrella with a white mist to create the "rained" on effect.

Thanks for stopping in today!
Be sure to come back tomorrow for some more inspiration!

The Paper Scraps Challenge ...

Happy Monday!

Moxie Fab World posted a challenge to use your paper scraps in a creative way ... so I thought I'd share the following card creations with you!

I never throw anything out ... including the little pieces that are included on the manufacturer's strip to show you what paper is on the reverse side.

First I used my tiny circle punches to create some cute little bubbles ... some are popped up, some are stuck directly to the page.

Another cute card using up my circles punched from scraps ...

I kept the paper as strips this time --- the perfect way to turn your scraps into a "badge" on a card!

I also wanted to share some Easter cards with you today, as CRAFT Challenges has posted an Easter/Spring related challenge!

I used Bo Bunny Easter stickers to create these cute cards!

This card cracks me up ... so cute!

A few cards designed for the ScrapMuch? Card Class

Hello! Hello! Hello!

I'm here today with a few of the cards that I designed for the card class held at the ScrapMuch? retreat at the end of March.  The class went really well and everyone enjoyed making their cards!

This card was made with the oh so fun Jillibean Strawberry Soup collection.  I enjoyed playing with the Kraft paper and experimenting with my die cuts and embossing folders for the texture.

Whoooo loves this card?

This card was designed with a more "masculine" feel ...

This card was designed with a more "feminine" appeal ... I have seen the "purse" card done before and I was excited to try one out on my own!

Thanks for stopping in!
Have a great day :)
