More Card Creations!

Hello there!
I'm back today with some more cards that I created for ScrapMuch? using the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan line (in store now at ScrapMuch? !!!)

I love the shape of this card .... and of course the ice cream is just delicious!  Mmmmm ....

I used a few of the chipboard pieces for this card ... plus I used my Cuttle Bug to emboss the card and create the beautiful background texture right on the card.

I love the soft greeny/blue colour theme for this card ... the music note paper is one of my favourites in the collection ... i can't wait to create a layout with it!

Anyway, thanks for stopping in today ... please visit again tomorrow!

Don't Throw It Away...

Hi there!  I'm here with a few cards today :)

First of all, Moxie Fab World has posted a challenge to use something that you would normally just throw away ---- if you have sat beside me at a ScrapMuch? crop, you might have noticed that I rarely throw anything away ... including the barcodes from the products that I use!  This is a card that I created (sorry, but I didn't take a picture of the back of the card before I gave it away - but there is a single barcode on the back in the bottom corner :)
I also thought I'd post this for the "inspire me Friday" challenge at the Joyful Stamper.

The next two cards are some cards that I made with leftover scraps from layouts ... remember, no matter how small and random your scraps are, you can always save them to use on a card!

Thanks for stopping in!

Household Item Challenge

Today I'm playing along with a fun challenge posted at Moxie Fab World.  The challenge is to use a household item on a project.

Recognize this???  Well, if you have bought any light bulbs lately, you'll recognize this as the white corrugated paper that comes in the light bulb boxes to keep the bulbs safe.  I was switching out a burnt light bulb the other day and came across this inspiring household item!

I have really been enjoying my new butterfly die-cut ... so I just had to make these cute butterfly cut-outs from the paper!

And then of course, I had to make some cards with them :)

This card is my favourite ... simple yet elegant.

This is another sweet card ... perfect for a baby shower or something like that :)

This is a texture filled card ... I used my cuttle bug to emboss some paper and then used my punches to create the paper lace trim.

No butterflies on this card ... just a card that is using up my light bulb paper scraps :)

Thanks again for stopping in ... stop in again tomorrow for more creations!

Scrapbook and Cards Today Sketch Contest!

Welcome Back!

Today I'm sharing a layout that I created based on a sketch challenge posted at Scrapbook and Cards Today.

This is the oh so fun sketch that was posted:

And this is my take on the sketch ...
I enjoyed using the Farmhouse collection from October Afternoon -- the banners are cut out from a sheet of patterned paper and the bird is a cute embellie from the chipboard sheet.

Just in case you can't tell, the title of this layout is "the best of friends walk side by side".  I used mini-alphas and words from Authentique to create a multi-size and "interesting" title.

And of course I have a card to share :) ... it isn't made from the scraps, as I'm still saving those ... but is still a pretty card nonetheless!

This card is made using a clear card from CTMH & paper from Fancy Pants.  I used eyelets to attach the paper to the clear card.

As you can see here, I also used a transparency for part of the card design too.  This kind of card is fun to make ... but you really have to think about what is on the reverse side of each paper before attaching to the card :)

Thanks for stopping in today!  Be sure to visit again tomorrow :)

Another Lets Get Sketchy Challenge!

Hello there!

Lets Get Sketchy has posted another lovely sketch challenge and I was excited to play along ... this is the sketch:

And this is my take on the sketch ...

I chose to use 4 photos instead of 2 as I wanted to be able to use all of the cute photos that I had of my friends' baby Sarah.  I used the little flowers and envelopes that came with the collection for my embellishment clusters ... and added some light pink pearl swirls to add that extra texture and elegance.

And of course ... I made some cards with my scraps.

This uses a transparency which I attached to the card using eyelets.  Some of the hearts are attached behind the transparency and some are attached on the outside of it and (... hard to see this in the photo :).

This collection had a number of cute bird cut-outs which I couldn't resist using.  I used a spellbinder die to create this circular card --- what a fun shape!

More love birds ...

I embossed the front of this card using my Cuttle Bug and sanded the paper to make the pattern more prominent.

A special thanks to my scrappy friend Jenn who gave me the paper collection!

Be sure to visit again tomorrow for more inspirational creations!

Card Challenge Time!

Today I am posting two cards that I created at the ScrapMuch? retreat on the weekend.  I had an amazing time at the retreat and feel so fortunate to have so many talented scrappy friends!  Also, a big thank you to my fellow ScrapMuch? team members for hosting such an incredible event!  (truly a great weekend :)

Card Patterns posted a beautiful card sketch, and I couldn't help but play along!  This is the sketch:

This is my take on the sketch ... I love this paper from October Afternoon's Farmhouse collection.  It is so pretty and I love the combo of the golds and greys!

The second card that I am sharing today is based on the following Frosted Designs card sketch:

I kept things simple for this card, as I wanted the focus to be on the cute message :)

Thanks for popping in!  Be sure to stop by again tomorrow!

Card creations with Neopolitan ...

Today I am at the ScrapMuch? spring retreat ... so what better time to share some cards that I created for ScrapMuch? with the new American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection.

I love these butterfly garlands ... so sweet!

This card uses a rub-on for the image and I free-handed the sun with some paper from the collection.

I love the chipboard embellishments that come with this collection ... this jar of hearts is pretty cute!

Mmmm ... Ice cream!  I cut out some cones to pop-up and used stickles to add the glitter to the cones.

Thanks for visiting ... come again tomorrow!
